Confident & Multicultural

From the earliest age, our students are immersed in a second language and in art, music, and movement. We know that by doing so, we develop students' self-expression and appreciation for other cultures.

Curious & Creative

We encourage students' innate curiosity to foster the joy of learning, and we nurture students' individual interests to grow their passions.

Character & Courage

We strive to create a place where everyone feels they belong. We celebrate languages, cultures, and perspectives, and foster our students to become compassionate leaders in a multicultural world.

2ND & 3RD GRADE

EB’s French Reading Camp is a reading literacy program for New Orleans area students in second grade and third grade and is not exclusive to Ecole Bilingue students, although students must have prior knowledge of French.

In this camp, students will work on French phonics, phonetics, and comprehension. The camp will purposely maintain a small enrollment to provide quality attention to all students.

EB’s Reading Camp aims to build foundational reading skills in small groups to strengthen and encourage proper reading development. A reading level test will be offered on the first day to determine each student’s level of reading ability. The students will then be placed in groups based on their level and a more personalized program will be offered. Lessons run for two hours of instruction daily. Full day campers with join our Kindergarten through 8th grade camp in the afternoon.

Over the week, learners will work on:

  • help students with reading difficulties to make progress in decoding and fluency.
  • restore or consolidate each student’s confidence in his or her ability to read and thus develop the pleasure of reading.
  • enrich vocabulary through reading.
  • build simple strategies for understanding simple texts.
  • tackle and produce texts on a variety of themes, using a structured approach.
