How long is the school day?
On the Elémentaire and Fabian Hall campuses, instruction begins at 8:15 a.m. and ends at 3:45 p.m. for students in Cours Préparatoire – 4ème (1st – 8th grades). For Moyenne Section and Grande S (Pre-K 4 and Kinder), instruction begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m.
On the Maternelle campus, our instruction time is from 8:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Therefore, dismissal takes place from 3:15 – 3:59 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesday dismissal is one hour earlier (2:15 – 2:59 p.m.), allowing necessary time for curriculum development and teacher teamwork meetings. The carpool page designates the dismissal time slots by grade level.
Students not enrolled in after care who not picked up by 4 p.m. (3 p.m. on Wednesdays) are checked into after care and families are assessed a daily drop-in rate per student not picked up.
EB Extended Care and Etude Hours
For extended care, EB offers both before and after care.
Before care is 7:30 – 8:00 a.m. and held at the Elémentaire campus for students MS – 4ème (Pre-K 4 – 8th grades). Before care for students in Crèche, Toute Petite, and Petite Section is held at the Maternelle campus.
After care is 4 – 6 p.m. (3 – 6 p.m. on Wednesdays). A snack is provided by the school.
Etude is EB’s study hall program. Beginning in CP (1st grade), all students placed in after care are first placed in etude for the first hour after the normal school day ends. Students transition to free play after completing any necessary course work or home work. There is no etude on Wednesdays.
